An investigation continues into the discovery of a woman in Bastrop County who is believed to have been shot in Travis County.
According to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, detectives were called to assist the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office on the morning of February 19, 2023. The body of a Hispanic woman in her thirties was discovered with a gunshot wound in the 100 block of Stony Point.
As the investigation unfolded, detectives determined that the woman was a passenger in a red truck that was shot at by someone in another vehicle while on Highway 183 in Travis County. It’s believed the shooting took place between 11:00 p.m. and midnight, and that the woman was taken to the location in Bastrop County where she later died.
