Trump Open to Dirt from Foreign Nations, Blues Win, Shoal Creek Fix More Expensive

President Donald Trump says he would be open to accepting dirt on a political opponent from a foreign power and that he’d have no obligation to tell the FBI about it. 

In an interview with ABC News, Trump said he’d want to hear what the foreign power had to offer and that “there’s nothing wrong with listening.” 

Just last month, Trump pledged not to use information stolen by foreign adversaries in his 2020 reelection campaign.

New figures from The Treasury Department show the U.S. budget deficit has grown 40{2a63e07d84fe12ceff3a79b3b7d16ceb8565bd2470b26c53e2419132d99be4c6} over where it was this time a year ago.

The budget deficit is now more than $738 billion, that’s up $206 billion from last year.

The Congressional Budget Office projects that the nation’s budget deficit will reach one trillion dollars in 2022.

North Central Austin may get a new charter school.  The state will vote today on whether to approve royal public schools to open in August of 2020.  

The area now served by Burnet Middle School would be the location of the charter school.  It could enroll up to 2400 students.  

AISD calls the charter school a threat to the district’s budget.

It looks like fixing an eroding cliff along Shoal Creek will cost the city more than expected.  

Initial projections were for $12.5-million, but a memo from the Watershed Department now says an additional $7.5-million is needed as a contingency.  

Engineers are sounding the alarm that anymore significant damage to the cliff will most likely cause significant property damage for homeowners.

St. Louis Wins the Stanley Cup for the First Time in History.

Having the home ice advantage did little to help the Boston Bruins, who fell to the St. Louis Blues 4-1 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.  Boston had been largely favored to win the Stanely Cup this year.  

Within five months, the St. Louis Blues went from one of the worst teams in the league to the champions.
