City of Elgin and Texas Department of Transportation officials will cut the ribbon on new sidewalks for FM 1100, SH 95 north, and County Line Road on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at 2:15 p.m. The $1.3 million project is funded through a transportation Alternatives Project grant with the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), TxDOT and the City of Elgin.
The project provides approximately two miles of ADA-accessible sidewalk from the Elgin Park and Ride on SH 95 North, to Austin Community College Elgin campus at US 290 and County Line Road. As a result of this project, the new City of Elgin Recreation Center, Elgin Middle School, Elgin High School, Neidig Elementary, ACC Elgin Campus, neighborhoods and commercial property will all have complete connections to each other.
