The Texas Department of Transportation will be unveiling a new interactive experience designed to teach college students about the dangers of drunk driving.  In an effort to reduce crashes and save lives on Texas roadways, TxDOT’s “Plan to Win” virtual reality game experience will quiz and educate Texas drivers on the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving.

The experience is part of the agency’s “Plan While You Can” campaign aimed at urging drivers to plan ahead for a sober ride.

In 2017 (the last year-end total available), there were 1,241 alcohol-related crashes in Austin. Those crashes led to 22 fatalities and 80 serious injuries.

The simulator will be on the University of Texas campus on Wednesday, February 27.
