The Texas Department of Transportation will be joined by officials from the Texas Transportation Commission and 7-year-old Archer Foltermann to celebrate the completion of the 183 Flyover project on Wednesday.
This $124.2 million Texas Clear Lanes project constructed three new flyovers at the I-35 and US 183 interchange and reconstructed the existing northbound I-35 to northbound US 183 flyover. The project also completed extensive work at St. Johns Avenue such as reconstructing the bridge and adding non-signalized U-turns and intersection bypass lanes in each direction.
Other project improvements included extended entrance and exit ramps and enhanced bicycle and pedestrian accommodations throughout the corridor.
TXDOT will mark the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m.
