The University of Texas at Austin announced on Thursday that is has been ranked No. 58 in the world and No. 4 among public universities in the U.S., according to the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings. Among both public and private universities in the U.S., UT Austin ranked No. 19, and was the best in Texas.
The QS World University Rankings were based on nine factors, including academic reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty member, sustainability, employability and international research collaboration. The results draw on the analysis of more than 17 million academic papers and the opinions of 240,000 academic faculty members and employers.
Other Texas universities featured in the rankings include Texas A&M at No. 32, Rice University at No. 34, and The University of Texas at Dallas at No. 86.
UT Austin’s excellence has been recognized by other recent rankings this year, including in U.S. News & World Report.
