4. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF LOCAL ISSUES ON THE BALLOT
The issues you’ve probably heard the most about are Austin proposition A, which would call for an election on any lease of city-owned property.
This grew out of the Austin MLS stadium issue, but it could mean that an election would have to be held anytime someone leases a venue like the Long Center and other city facilities.
Austin proposition B would require an election to expand the Austin Convention Center of that expansion cost more than 20 million dollars, and Travis County proposition A would put the county first in line to get new hotel/motel tax revenue to renovate the Travis County Expo Center.

5. DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN PARTS OF OKLAHOMA AND ARKANSAS FROM SEVERE STORMES THAT EARLIER SPAWNED A TORNADO IN THE DALLAS AREA.
Tens of thousands of homes and businesses were without power, including the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Highfill, about 155 miles northwest of Little Rock.
The tornado in Dallas caused structural damage, including building collapses, and knocked out electricity to tens of thousands in the area as well.
