An Austin man alleges Williamson County deputies used excessive force arresting and beating him on the TV show Live PD. Friend of of 36-year-old Ramsey Mitchell complained to Wilco Commissioners Court that deputies went too far but Judge Bill Gravell tells the Statesman video shows Mitchell reaching for a weapon trying to escape and calls the deputies’ actions reasonable and necessary.
Friends of a man arrested and beaten by Williamson County Sheriffs deputies on Live PD complain to Commissioners Court that officers used excessive force. Friends of 36-year-old Ramsey Mitchell of Austin say deputies went too far in the arrest. But County Judge Bill Gravell tells the Statesman the video clearly show the man trying to escape, reaching for weapon, and calls the deputies’ actions reasonable and necessary.
