BASTROP COUNTY:
The number of recoveries in Bastrop County appear to be climbing more slowly than neighboring counties. As of Friday morning, 819 cases have been confirmed by health officials, 160 of which have resulted in a recovery. A dozen people have died due to complications from COVID-19. 579 of the cases have come from the unincorporated areas of Bastrop County. In terms of cities, Elgin, which currently has 168 confirmations, has consistently had the most cases. The City of Bastrop has reported 53 cases and the City of Smithville has reported 20.
CALDWELL COUNTY:
Caldwell County has reported a grand total of 772 cases of coronavirus since March. There are currently 594 active cases, including four hospitalizations. Five have died but 173 have made a recovery.
HAYS COUNTY:
The overwhelming majority of COVID-19 tests in Hays County have continued to return with negative results. Almost 15,000 tests have been administered, and more than 11,100 of them have not been positive. 3001 cases remain active out of the 3816 confirmed cases. 22 of the active cases involve a patient in the hospital, but Hays County has avoided the strain on its hospital system that has impacted other areas. Only 78 people have required hospitalization since March. 14 people have died and 801 have recovered.
TRAVIS COUNTY:
Travis County’s hospitalizations swing back in the right direction over the past day, dropping by 13 from Thursday morning to a total of 479 currently. The number of ICU patients is also smaller. Almost 17,000 cases have been confirmed since March resulting in 189 deaths. But More than 13,300 people have made recoveries within that same time.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY:
80 fewer cases are active in Williamson County Friday morning than 24-hours prior. The total for Friday morning is 1033, 104 of which are patients in the hospital. Since March, 65 people have died and 3322 have recovered. It’s worth noting that the recovery number for Friday is almost 200 higher than Thursday morning’s total.
