BASTROP COUNTY:
Bastrop County Health Authority Dr. Desmar Wilkes says a new death has been confirmed related to COVID-19. The county has seen four deaths out of its 271 total cases. 105 of those cases are now recoveries. The 30-39 age group accounts for the majority of cases, followed by people ages 20-29.
COMAL COUNTY:
There are 18 “probable” cases of coronavirus in Comal County, but those cases are not yet factoring into the overall count of 137 cases just yet. As of Thursday morning, 35 cases of COVID-19 remain active. Seven people have died but 113 have recovered. Fewer than 2-percent of patients have required hospitalization.
HAYS COUNTY:
5903 tests have been administered in Hays County, and 4580 of those have been negative. By Thursday morning, Hays County health officials reported 230 active cases and 257 recoveries. Ten people are currently hospitalized, but since March, only 39 people have actually needed in-patient treatment. Five people have died.
TRAVIS COUNTY:
Not unexpectedly, new coronavirus cases have been rising more sharply in Travis County recently. Officials previously warned that more cases would be found as more testing became available, and as more businesses opened. Austin Public Health says 4109 cases have been confirmed since March, 3248 of which have transitioned into recoveries. 104 people are now in the hospital and 99 have died.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY:
The number of recovered patients in Williamson County continues to outpace its 201 active cases by a wide margin. 533 people have made recoveries since the pandemic’s beginning. 29 people have died and ten are currently in the hospital. There has been an overall total of 763 confirmations since March, only 103 of which have ever required a hospital stay.
