Central Texas COVID-19 Update for June 15, 2020

Labor Day Weekend Covid 19

BASTROP COUNTY:

The weekend saw the addition of several new cases of coronavirus in Bastrop County. As of Monday morning, 286 cases are active and 110 are recoveries. Four deaths have been confirmed related to COVID-19 since March. 56 of the county’s overall cases have been found between the ages of 30 and 39, accounting for the largest number among any age group.


COMAL COUNTY:

Since Comal County Public Health discovered its first case of coronavirus in March, 191 cases have been reported, and 159 of those have been confirmed. 57 cases are currently active as of Monday morning and 127 people have made full recoveries. Seven people have died due to complications caused by the virus.


HAYS COUNTY:

Hays County’s number of new cases may have shot up noticeably over the weekend, but the county has seen no new deaths since June 1 when a fifth person was reported to have died from the virus. 727 cases have been confirmed, 456 of which are currently active, and 266 of which are recoveries. 16 people are in the hospital as of Monday morning.


TRAVIS COUNTY:

Despite a sharp jump in hospitalizations, Travis County has seen only one new death since Friday caused by COVID-19. 129 people were hospitalized Monday morning, 29 of whom are on ventilators. Of the 4545 cases found in the past few months, 3456 people have recovered from the virus.


WILLIAMSON COUNTY:

The majority of Williamson County’s hospital beds are still open if needed. As of this morning, 55-percent of the beds are free, and 67-percent of ventilators are free. 11 people are in the hospital right now and 30 people have died. Currently, 297 cases are active and 577 are recoveries.
