Austin’s area health Authority joins other experts in asking you to take it easy this labor day weekend.
As they keep an eye on the Corona virus pandemic, health experts and area leaders fear a spike could follow the holiday weekend. They are reminded of the few weeks following the Memorial Day holiday, when they saw a surge in infections.
They explain it took nearly two months to see a significant drop in the average of infections. However, Health Authority Dr. Mark Escott said this does not mean you should spend the weekend cloistered.
Rather he explained you can still enjoy some annual traditions with the family, just as long as its the family you are already living and sheltering with.
Officials add you should keep in mind the Covid 19 restrictions and orders. They remind Austinites and visitors alike to avoid large crowds, wear face coverings, practice social distancing and proper hygiene.
