Miami Dolphins outside linebacker Bradley Chubb will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL late in Sunday’s 56-19 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. An MRI on Monday that revealed the extent of Chubb’s injury. As reported by (in addition to replay footage) courtesy of ESPN’s Adam Schefter: “Dolphins’ standout OLB Bradley Chubb did in fact tear his ACL, per source. Chubb was hurt with three minutes left in Sunday’s game, when Miami trailed by 30. Miami now will be without Chubb and Jaelen Phillips, who tore his Achilles vs the Jets the day after Thanksgiving.”  The 27-year-old was carted off the field after suffering the non-contact knee injury with just three minutes left in the game.

Head coach Mike McDaniel said after the game that he should not have had Chubb in the game at the time, as the Dolphins were down 30 points at the time , with little time remaining. McDaniel admitted of the move to keep Chubb in the game: “It doesn’t look very smart at all.”

Chubb, the fifth-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, has 74 combined tackles, 29 solo tackles and 11 sacks this season. Chubb was traded to the Dolphins two years ago for a first-round pick and Chase Edmonds. The Dolphins (11-5) have the AFC East title on the line next week when they face the Buffalo Bills (10-6). Miami has clinched a playoff spot already, and are currently the No. 2 seed in the AFC.
