REPORT: Shaka Smart to Marquette is Imminent
It is no secret that Shaka Smart has been on the hot seat with the Longhorns for at least the last couple of years. It is also wasn’t dumb to believe that when the Marquette job became available, that it may entice the Wisconsin native to jump ship and head North.
Shaka has been with Texas for the last 6 years, he posted a 109-86 record, which overall isn’t THAT bad, but his 52-56 record he posted in the Big 12 is, well, bad.

Barring something unforeseen, Shaka Smart is heading to Milwaukee. https://t.co/Agcn6fKr7D

The buyout for Shaka sits at $7 million.
The real question here is who will replace him? Top name being floated right now is Chris Beard at Texas Tech. Beard is a former Longhorn as well as a student assistant under coach Tom Penders.
