Proposed amendment to keep Texas from ever having state income taxes

Texas does not have a state income tax, and a state lawmaker is proposing a constitutional amendment to keep it that way. The resolution by State Representative Jeff Leech would take income taxes off the table forever, and the bill has the endorsement of the Texas Association of Business.

TAB’s Jeff Mosley said businesses and people move to Texas because, without a state income tax, many feel it’s almost like getting a pay raise.
