The shooting at Santa Fe High School last year prompted Governor Abbott to put school safety on his list of emergency items for Texas.
School finance reform and insuring schools are safe places to learn are two of the Governor’s top priorities this session, so is improving academic outcomes by keeping the best teachers.
Abbott’s call to cap Property Tax growth at 2.5 percent did get some pushback from Texas Democrats, Abbott also wants to focus on fighting gangs, securing the border and renewing the UT Texas A&M Football game.
