Dan Patrick announced he’s buying ten metal detectors for Santa Fe ISD after parents demanded them before the start of the school year. The Texas-based company Garrett Metal Detectors will provide more detectors as well as training for district staff.
Patrick also pledged the Texas Senate will create a matching fund program for other districts that want to install metal detectors or purchase inspection wands; and said schools that purchase them before the next session will be retroactively reimbursed.
