Renewing the college football rivalry between Texas and Texas A&M might become a state law

It’s been a long time since UT and A&M played football against each other, and while many student don’t remember the tradition and rivalry the same cannot be said for UT Linebacker Camryon Townsend who grew up watching the games. And while some question why lawmakers are stepping in, most are excited for the chance to see the Horns and Ags square off once again.

A Texas A&M grad has filed legislation to make the UT/Texas A&M rivalry a State law. The series between the two teams came to an end in November 2011 after the Aggies jumped from the Big-12 to the Southeast Conference. State Representative Lyle Larson filed the legislation to renew it.

The University of Texas leads the series 76-to-37 with 5 ties. Texas took the last meeting in 2011, 27-to-25 on a last second field goal.
