Rice University Political Scientist Mark Jones said the goal of Bonnen’s new Political Action Committee is to get House Republicans re-elected in 2020. He also mentioned that he will use that money to protect house incumbents with the main goal to protect the narrow Republican majority and his tenure as Speaker.
In 2020 House Democrats would need to hold their 67 seats and flip 9 Republican seats to take over the majority.
