Texas teachers are fighting back against the State Education Commissioner for practices they believe hurt traditional public schools in favor of charters.
A lawsuit filed by two of the largest teacher’s unions in Texas contends TEA Commissioner Mike Morath has violated state laws governing the takeover of failing schools by charters by preventing Teachers and school administrators from playing a role in the restructuring.
Morath is also accused of allowing charters to opt out of State Education standards.
