City Council to Vote on Freedom City Policy, FIFA Comes to North America, and Austin Bond Package | June 13, 2018

Hour one of the Todd and Don Show:  

• City Council Member Greg Casar has proposed a resolution, the Freedom City Policy, scheduled for a vote June 14, that calls on Austin police to end most discretionary arrests, and to track when, where and why they are made

• Small business optimism index rose to the second highest in history

• Seattle has repealed a tax that would have charged big businesses around $500 for each of their full-time employees in order to fund affordable housing and services for the homeless


Hour two of the Todd and Don Show:

• FIFA announced North America (The United States, Canada and Mexico) will host the 2026 World Cup

• TECH NEWS:

-Uber applies for patent that would detect drunk passengers

• The number of people on SNAP benefits in America has gone down

• President Trump showed Kim Jong Un a Hollywood-style video to pitch him on peace


Hour three of the Todd and Don Show:

• The Austin City Council is set to vote tomorrow on adopting the city manager’s recommendation for a 2018 bond package where Austin voters would decide on whether to approve the $816 million referendum this November

• Reggie Bush has won a lawsuit against the Rams after he fell and injured his knee in 2015

• Trump is looking to erect tent cities to house unaccompanied children


Hour four of the Todd and Don Show:

• Austin City Council is working to decide how McKalla Place would be used and say they need more time

• EMS across the state is going to follow up with opioid overdose victims to make sure they are sticking with their detox program
