- Gov. Greg Abbott signs law to allow teachers to be armed in schools
- The law will also increase mental health services for students
- School districts will be allowed to place as many armed teachers or school personnel on campus as they see fit
- This is in response to the deadly Santa Fe shooting in 2018
- Separate measures will allow campuses to “harden” security with metal detectors, vehicle barriers, new security doors, shooter alarm systems and more
