Hour one of the Todd and Don Show:  

• A vintage World War II fighter plane crashed into a parking lot of a Fredericksburg apartment complex killing two people

• The Austin Independent School District’s Board of Trustees will vote next Monday on what to re-name four schools currently named after members of the Confederacy: Allan Center, Fulmore Middle School, Lanier and Reagan High Schools, and Eastside Memorial High School at the Johnston Campus

• A study says baby boomers are delaying or foregoing retirement because they have to take care of either adult children, elderly parents or both

• Florida is suing the nation’s two largest drugstore chains, Walgreens and CVS, alleging they added to the state and national opioid crisis by overselling painkillers and not taking precautions to stop illegal sales

• Leander ISD is teaming up with Department of Public Safety to crack down on drivers breaking the law and passing stopped school buses

• TECH NEWS:

– Facebook’s negative press as of late has effected Mark Zuckerberg’s finances

– NASA awarded Lockheed Martin a $247.5 million contract to build the X-59 QueSST supersonic jet that doesn’t produce sonic booms

• QuikTrip has been testing a hybrid employee program for six months at a few locations in Wichita, hiring armed clerks that would be comprised of certified peace officers, veterans or armed security guards


Hour three of the Todd and Don Show:

• Wildfires in California are still blazing but the concern now is mudslides as rain storms are on the way

• Austin school district enrollment has fallen by 1,600 students

• John Hinckley, the man who tried to kill President Ronald Reagan in 1981, can move out of his mother’s house and live independently or with roommates or a family member, according to a court ruling issued Friday


Hour four of the Todd and Don Show:

• The White House is working on new rules for reporters after the incident with Jim Acosta

• A rare white lion named Mufasa faces the auction block in South Africa and activists fear the auction could lead to the purchasing of the lion by hunters for sport

• Republic Police Chief Loren Culp is proposing a “2nd Amendment Sanctuary City” in his Eastern Washington town that would “prevent federal and state infringement on the right to keep and bear arms; nullifying all federal and state acts in violation of the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States”
