- The Austin Airport Advisory Commission discussed a proposal for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to allow non-ticketed visitors
- If the proposal is approved, the visitors would have to go through the same security procedures as the ticketed passengers
- Visitors could come to the airport to eat, drink, shop, watch the planes take off or meet or say goodbye to families/friends at the gate
- They could enjoy some local fare at the airport as well as local eateries like Hut’s Hamburgers, Salt Lick Barbecue, Amy’s Ice Creams, JuiceLand and more have locations there
- The changes have not been approved yet with no timeline on the decision being announced
