• TxDOT plans to widen a section of Parmer Lane between Whitestone Boulevard (Ranch to Market Road 1431) and State Highway 45 to three lanes in each direction instead of two in an effort to cut down on rush hour congestion

• Amber Guyger, the Dallas police officer that shot and killed Botham Jean, has been fired
