Multiple shootings occurred in Austin on Sunday, one that claimed a life in south Austin and another that left 4 people injured in a bar on Sixth Street, the Austin City Council is looking to fill “budget asteroids” ahead of the 2026 city budget and school districts in Texas are scrambling to fill budget shortfalls as there’s heightened scrutiny about the high salaries of district superintendents.

Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis discusses new data like staffing numbers & crime data, a librarian in Georgetown High School has been threatened with termination for refusing to pull over 150 books from the school’s library and Collin County residents spoke out against the proposed East Plano Islamic Center development.

The Austin ISD is considering consolidating schools in the face of a massive budget deficit, a high school athlete in Frisco was stabbed to death by another student at a track meet and the recently announced tariffs by President Trump are receiving mixed responses.
