Anyone living in Travis County can now take advantage of a pilot program being offered by the Central Health District offering free rides to the doctor. CEO Mike Geeslin said, at least for now, the partnership involves only the Southeast Health & Wellness Center, but that could change down the road.
Through the program, Geeslin says they tailor to each patient’s needs using a combination of bus service, cab rides, ridesharing, or a dedicated shuttle service.
The program costs the county about $28,000 a year.
