Criner takes stand today as closing arguments may begin tomorrow

The prosecution has rested in the capital murder trial of Meechial Criner, accused of sexually assaulting and strangling Haruka Weiser to death. The Statesman reports a tablet computer was shown to the jury that had writing done by Criner as a 17-year-old talking about sex, violence, family sex, rape and blood.

That tablet was in use around the time of Weiser’s murder, prosecutors say. Criner took the stand in his own defense.

Closing arguments could begin tomorrow.
