LCRA will lower lakes to help with cleanup after historic flooding

The LCRA has closed a third floodgate at both Mansfield and Tom Miller Dams this morning.  That means only one floodgate is still opened at each dam.  Officials expect to close the remaining gates by Wednesday Nov.7th.

A waterway ban remains in effect for Lake Travis and Lady Bird Lake until Tuesday, Nov 6th , but both Inks Lake and Lake Buchanan have reopened to the public.

Lower Colorado River Authority said it will lower lake levels on Lake LBJ by about five feet and lower Lake Marble Falls by about seven feet starting in December.  This is to allow property owners to clean up and make repairs from flooding last month. The drawdown is expected to last about 8 weeks.
