New concerns about West Nile Virus in South Austin

Austin Public Health says a second human case is confirmed and two samples from traps set in the Barton Creek Greenbelt area have tested positive.

Public Health says most people infected with WNV won’t have any signs or symptoms but urge you to seek medical attention if symptoms develop like fever, headache, fatigue, body aches and a skin rash. People over 50 face the greatest risk of getting sick from WNV.
