This morning 24-year-old Megan Work accepted a plea bargain and pleaded guilty to one count of injury to a child and one count of tampering with evidence. Work and her boyfriend Michael Turner, no relation to Colton, buried Colton’s body in a shallow grave off of Burleson Road in Southeast Austin. Work will remain jailed until her sentencing in November.
She faces up to 99 years in prison. Work’s plea bargain means no trial, where Cedar Park Police’s detective work was previously criticized by Judge David Wahlberg, which could possibly have affected the outcome of the trial.
