Spencer Cronk to eliminate five existing assistant city manager positions

Austin City Manager Spencer Cronk is cleaning house in his office. The Statesman reports that Cronk is eliminating the five existing assistant city manager positions. Those positions will be replaced with assistant city manager positions tied to targeted goals.

Those who had the jobs can reapply for them as can other candidates. Mayor Steve Adler commented “There’s a new CEO in town.”
